I say sound bath. Actually, my sessions are more like harmonies and melodies for your soul. They’re gentle, musically informed and lean into the healing power of musical intervals. They’re less about intense vibrations like some sound baths you will find, and more about curating harmonies to ease the mind, body and spirit into a state of bliss.

We’re all familiar with yoga and the physical and mental benefits of a regular yoga practice. But sound healing and sound baths have a whole new wealth of benefits that you can enjoy. I work specifically with my voice, Crystal Tones bowls and chimes to create a relaxing environment for people to enjoy. Stress is a major contributor to some of the biggest diseases and killers in the western world, and I am passionate about helping people relax in traditional ways. Ways that have been lost from ancient times but are gradually coming back to the forefront… because they work!

The gentle waves of crystal singing bowls encourage the brain to relax. As the brain relaxes it enters different states of being. Slowing the brain waves, the body is engulfed with hormones including oxytocin and serotonin, natural stress and pain relief. It is also flooded with nitric oxide which aids the immune system.

So whether you’re wanting to give your mind or body or both a rest and reset, sound baths could be just the thing you’re looking for.

I use crystal alchemy singing bowls, my voice and chimes in my sound healing work. These are more gentle instruments than the gong, for example, with gentle, continuous waves rather than intense sound. They are suitable for just about everyone, unless you have a pacemaker, in the first trimester of pregnancy, suffer from epilepsy, have recently had mental placement surgery (ie knee replacement) or have intense mental ill health such as schizophrenia.

Now, if you’ve never been to a sound bath, imagine lying down with your blankets and cushions, and some essential oils while someone plays music to you. I use the highest quality, handmade crystal sound bowls, chimes, and vocals. Sound baths, or sound meditations, immerse you in vibrations and sound. You can quite literally feel the sound around you as you lie back and relax, soaking in the vibrations from the various traditional instruments used.

My sound baths are not actually, really sound baths. They’re carefully curated sets of harmonies to lift your vibration and leave you floating into the day… Expect melody, harmony and gentle sounds to usher you into a celestial lullaby state.

Wait what? This all sounds a little bit hippy for me!? Not at all. There’s a lot of science surrounding sound baths and they’re growing in popularity right now due to their accessibility. When you consider that everything around us is energy and vibrations. The sound from the sound bath acts as a big magnet, drawing the happy endorphins from the brain and releasing them into the body. Expect to feel relaxed, calm, happy and floaty after this one hour class, no matter how stressed you are when you walk in!
