Why I Moved From Sound Baths to Identity Work

(And How My Work Has Deepened Over Time)

For a long time, sound baths were at the heart of my work.

If you found me through “sound bath Nottingham,” you may have sat in one of those spaces - soft lighting, bowls resonating, nervous systems unwinding in real time.

It was beautiful work. It still is.

But over the years, something shifted internally. Perhaps it was the bowls!

Not because sound stopped working.

But because I became more interested in what happened after the room went quiet.

What Sound Baths Gave Me

Sound baths are powerful because they regulate the nervous system.

They slow brainwaves.
They soften defences.
They create safety.

And in that safety, something opens.

People would leave calmer. Lighter. More connected.

But they would often say the same thing:

“I feel clearer… but I don’t know what to do with it.” That sentence stayed with me.

The Question That Changed My Direction

I began noticing a pattern.

The real transformation wasn’t happening during the sound bath.

It was happening when someone:

  • Understood themselves differently

  • Saw a long-standing pattern clearly

  • Recognised how they actually make decisions

  • Stopped trying to live someone else’s version of life

The shift wasn’t just emotional. It was identity-based.

And identity work goes deeper than regulation alone.

From Regulation to Orientation

Sound regulates, but identity orients.

Regulation calms the nervous system, and orientation gives direction to your life.

Over time, I became more drawn to the orientation piece.

The questions underneath the calm:

  • Why do I keep repeating this pattern?

  • Why do I feel lost even when things look fine?

  • Why does this success not feel aligned?

  • Why do I struggle to decide what I want?

I realised people didn’t just need space to relax. They needed a map.

Why I Don’t Run Sound Baths Anymore

This wasn’t a dramatic pivot, it was more of an evolution.

My work moved from holding a room…

To helping people understand themselves in a structured way.

I became more focused on:

  • Decision-making patterns

  • Energetic rhythms

  • Strengths and sensitivities

  • Identity clarity

  • Alignment

Because when someone understands how they’re wired, they don’t just feel calm for a night.

They move differently for years.

What Identity Work Actually Is

Identity work isn’t about reinventing yourself. It’s about recognising or remembering yourself.

It’s about seeing:

  • Where you’ve been conditioned

  • Where you’ve been performing

  • Where you’ve been overriding your natural design

  • Where you’ve outgrown an old version of yourself

And once that becomes clear, direction follows naturally.

This is the foundation of the work I now do through structured Human Design and identity mapping, helping people rebuild clarity from the inside out.

If You Were Looking for a Sound Bath

If you landed here searching for a sound bath in Nottingham, I’m so glad you found your way here.

While I no longer run in-person sound sessions, the heart of that work… the nervous system awareness, depth, reflection, is still central to everything I do.

It has simply evolved.

Now the space I hold is less about resonance in a room…

And more about resonance with yourself.

The Through-Line Has Always Been Clarity

When I look back, the thread has always been the same. It was never just about sound.

It was about helping people feel:

  • Grounded

  • Oriented

  • Clear

  • Self-trusting

Sound was one doorway. Identity work is another.

And for me, it’s a deeper one.

If you’re feeling in transition yourself, outgrowing something, unsure of what’s next, sensing a shift, you’re not behind. You might just be evolving.

And sometimes evolution isn’t about adding something new.

It’s about moving closer to what’s true. If you’re looking for a map to help you on this journey, The Soul Map is where you will find most of my work.
