Sound Together

Launches June 2024

When community meets song, laughter and joy, healing is inevitable…

Did you know? when 1% of the population of a community commits to the raising of consciousness, miracles happen, and studies have shown it... this effect is known as the Maharishi Effect, and it’s phenomenal influence is well documented through research and study…

So join me for a Sound Together session near you. Bringing together Community, Mantra, Meditation, Singing, Laughter, Joy and cups of tea to connect to the heart of yourself and your community. Let’s raise the vibration together.

And no… YOU DON’T NEED TO BE ABLE TO SING (because there is no such thing). All voices, bodies, backgrounds and souls welcome. Just book yourself on and turn up, all sessions are guided by myself :)

“I’m on a mission to create community consciousness for greater health, happiness and safety within our small communities that often get swept aside.”

So what’s this all about?

Well, as well as singing being scientifically good for you, helping to regulate hormonal health that’s responsible for a whole host of ill-health from mental illness to type 2 diabetes, there’s also a community aspect, not just a personal aspect, to this too…

The maharishi effect proved in the 1970's that when just 1% of the population of a community committed to raising their own consciousness through meditation and chanting, the impact on the wider community was astounding.

Crime rates DRAMATICALLY lowered.

Deaths across the board DRAMATICALLY lowered, especially suicides and drug related deaths.

Prosperity in the area climbed.

A more recent study in Merseyside proved the exact same thing. Once 1% of the population of an area committed to coming together to raise consciousness, crime rates bucked the national trend AND predicted trend for the area in a hugely positive way. Suicide rates dramatically lowered, and life expectancy on the whole positively increased. It actually went against all the predictions for the area… and it only required the 1% threshold to stand up and do something. How amazing is that!?

And why is singing good for you?

Honestly, sometimes I can’t believe I have to tell people this, but singing is INCREDIBLY good for you. Physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually…

Studies have shown it helps lower stress, stimulates the immune system, improves lung function (especially if you’re suffering with long COVID), helps with speaking abilities, confidence, helps with processing grief, and releases endorphins (serotonin and dopamine) to boost your mental health, especially when done in connection with others.

We already knew that right? We just needed confirmation…

Finally, Do you need to be able to sing to join?

Firstly, there is no such thing. If you can speak, you can chant and sing. This isn’t a talent competition and quite honestly, I have no interest in whether you can hold a note or not, as long as you’re smiling while you do it!

But in all seriousness, the Western world has created this really oppressive social construct by which only people deemed ‘good’ at singing, should sing. And it’s keeping us stuck in this joyless loop of life.

So please don’t worry about your singing voice for this class. You will get no judgement here, just a welcome smile and an invitation to join in :)

Hi, I’m Becky,

And I’m on a mission to bring a little bit of awareness, consciousness, joy and song to the communities I serve, be it in-person or online.

My journey with sound started before I can even recall to be honest. I played clarinet in small orchestras when I was younger. I can play (a little) guitar and piano. But I now mainly use my voice, my harmonium, and my crystal singing bowls to help people connect back to their own voice too.

Having always sang in small bands and musical productions, I lost a lot of confidence in my voice through my 20’s for various reasons. Now, in my 30’s and very much in love with life, I’m back sharing one of the most powerful gifts each and every one of us has inside. Our voice.

I hope you will join me to ‘raise the vibe’ of your area and experience a little piece of joy together <3
