ANNOUNCEMENT: The Snug is moving sites

Press release 28th February 2023

I’ve been both excited and nervous about releasing this news. It's something I'm so excited for personally, as I know it means we can do more outdoor healing in peace and tranquility... but equally, it does come with sadness at leaving the old space behind.

In January 2022 I opened the doors to the Snug at Pleasley Vale, expecting it to be a long term home for the next few years. By Summer 2022 the Snug was booked up most weeks, and by November you were looking at a 4 week wait list for the sound bath classes, unless a waitlist space became available. For a new business, this is an incredible position to be in, but also quite stifling when it comes to where we grow and what we (I) do about it.

Back in November I went to look at other spaces around the Mills that were available. I'll be honest, I didn't like them. They also felt restrictive and they lacked outdoor space and the rooms available were just not a relaxing in energy.

I didn’t feel like any of them fitted what I was trying to do in terms of creating a space that was truly tranquil, relaxing and positive for people’s mental, physical and spiritual health. The spaces were big yes, but the energy was off. They were quite scary and spooky, with accessibility questionable and a fortune needed spending on them too to get them right. It left me with little option for growth down at the Mills, especially as I was keen to have somewhere long-term with land too.

Roll on January 2023. I sat down to consider my options before a Beeston sound bath, scratching my head about where this year was going to take me.

THAT SAME DAY I got a whatsapp out of the blue from a company I had been working with the previous year. They had a room going spare in the health retreat they were developing within a beautiful parkland landscape… would I be interested in using it for my work? “Hell yes!” I thought. The universe was listening!

A week later I popped round again to see the space. Bigger than my current space (tick), available during the day time as well as evenings, and in the most STUNNING location locally that I could possibly imagine. Set in 1,000 acres of private parkland and a deer park and connected to local trails. It was light, bright, airy, with a garden and parkland I could use, parking, and accessible… it ticked all the boxes, especially with the outdoor space that was so important to me. Knowing if the space went public it would be snapped up in an instant, I signed on the dotted line. This does lead me now to the news of moving. So I’m pleased, and nervous, to announce that our new address will be:

The Snug at Tranquil Waters Retreat, Hexgreave Estate, Farnsfield NG22 8LS

The doors will open to the new space in April 2023 when I will be hosting an informal, free open day for you to pop in, take a look around the studio and the grounds, and have a nosy at the new space. It’ll be a chance for you to pop in and find your bearings… so I hope you can join me (exact date and time TBC soon)! You can also have a look at what else is here, including a float space for a complete sensory deprivation experience, sauna, hot tub, massage therapy and more...

I hope you will support me in this move and pop in when you can. I understand for some of you it will mean the journey time will increase, and I understand some of you may be a little disappointed as you love the current space, but I know you will just love this space. It will mean I can also begin offering day time classes as well as more private outdoor sessions (no more dirty pontoon, ha!). My intention is for this space to develop much like I have done in my first year - celebrating moons, cycles, nature, ourselves, and also adding a few more yoga classes to the schedule now I have a space I feel is suitable for more movement.

Change is inevitable and part of my journey with you all is to teach that change is beautiful; sometimes scary and sudden, but it is the only one constant we can rely on.

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”

The nitty gritty - IMPORTANT FOR CURRENT MEMBERS, MEMBERSHIPS & PASS HOLDERS

From this new space I will be offering a mix of day time, evening and weekend group and private sessions.

It will take me a few months to find my bearings, so the following will take place while I figure out what will work for people:

  • MEMBERSHIPS If you have a rolling monthly membership, your membership will continue to renew up to the 27th March which is our final class. Afterwhich date, I will contact you to arrange a refund on any credits you have left. This will either work out to how many credits are remaining on your monthly pass (for example, if you have 1 x credit left on your mini membership you will receive a £16 refund, or if you have 1 x credit left on a standard membership you will receive £12.50 refund, up to the value of the credits remaining on your account), or you will receive a refund on how many weeks you have remaining for any unlimited pass members. For example an unlimited pass member will receive a £17.50 refund for every week they have remaining, so if you have 13 days remaining on your pass, you will receive 2 weeks worth of refund totalling £35 (weeks will be rounded up or down using the following, over 4 days remaining = 1 week, over 11 days remaining = 2 weeks, over 18 days remaining = 3 weeks, over 24 days remaining = 4 weeks unless you have attended 1 or more classes within that 6 day period, in which case you will receive a 3 week refund).

Alternatively, if you would prefer credits for the classes at the new Snug, you can swap your refund for the equivalent in class credits for mini-memberships and standard memberships only. Unlimited passes will simply be refunded per week(s) remaining.

After 27th March all memberships will be cancelled once refunds are processed.

  • CLASS PASSES If you have a 5 or 10 class pass, you can use these for any of the sessions at the new venue on classes up to £20 in value per class, or you can be refunded for the passes you have remaining if the new space is not suitable for you (ie it is too far to drive). Please email me if you request a refund, otherwise your passes will remain on your account to use at the new space.

  • CREDITS AND VOUCHERS Credited classes and vouchers will transfer to the new space so you can enjoy them from there, no refunds will be given on class credits due.

  • The final classes at the Snug Pleasley Vale will be the on the 27th March 2023.

Sessions will be more varied as I can also use the space in the day (something I couldn’t do from the snug due to the offices around me and parking difficulties). So you will have plenty of choice.

I still plan on running a similar schedule in terms of full moons, ceremonies, yoga and sound healing. Please bare with me while I work out what works best for this space :)
